A Course In Miracles Lesson 363

This holy instant would I give to You • Be You in charge, For I would follow You, certain that Your direction gives me peace

Note: Lessons 361-365 are identical and to be repeated each of the five last days.

The Point — Five days are devoted to the same thought because there is nowhere else conceptually to go. The holy instant is now offered rather than analyzed. The mind does not need to know beforehand whether the next moment requires action, words, thought, or quiet. Its responsibility is simply to remain available to guidance. This is the mature form of everything the Workbook has taught about surrender. You are not surrendering to an outside will that competes with yours. You are relinquishing the voice that never knew what you truly wanted so that the Voice speaking for God and for your Self can lead instead.

The final practice is therefore not mastery.

It is trust.

What’s Undone — The need to convert spiritual understanding into another system of personal control.

Where It Fits — The Workbook began by telling you that you did not understand what anything meant. It ends by showing you that you no longer have to pretend that you do. There is Someone to ask.

The Takeaway — You do not graduate from the Workbook by needing no guidance; you graduate by finally knowing where guidance comes from.
