A Course In Miracles Lesson 304

Let not my world obscure the sight of Christ

The Point — Jesus states one of the Course’s clearest perceptual principles: perception is a mirror, not a fact. What you see outside reflects the state of mind from which you look. Your “world” therefore obscures Christ when your private judgments, memories, fears, and meanings are projected outward and then mistaken for objective reality. To see Christ, the personal world must stop being imposed over what is actually there.

What’s Undone — The assumption that perception simply reports an independently existing world exactly as it is.

Where It Fits — Lesson 303 Welcomes Christ within. Lesson 304 The world of meaning the ego projects onto perception is what blocks recognition of Christ in the outer world.

The Takeaway — Your world obscures Christ when projection is mistaken for fact; change the mind, and perception reflects a different world.
