Forgiveness, Value, Defense, Healing, And Atonement
This phase takes the identity work of Lessons 91–120 and asks what follows from it in actual perception. Forgiveness becomes the central mechanism of happiness; giving and receiving are pushed toward full equivalence; Love is stripped of selectivity; worldly value is questioned at its root; and the student is asked to choose between two incompatible systems of perception. The later lessons become especially demanding: true forgiveness means refusing to make sin real, defenselessness exposes the mind’s attempt to protect a vulnerable self-concept, sickness is interpreted within ACIM’s metaphysics as a defense of bodily identity, healing becomes shared, and Atonement is finally defined as accepting the Self that never changed. The whole sequence moves from asking what you value to asking what you think you are.
