Let every voice but God’s be still in me
The Point — The Workbook now simplifies the inner landscape. Countless voices seem to speak—fear, grievance, planning, judgment, self-criticism, desire, memory—but Jesus reduces them to competing interpretations. The practice is not to fight each thought. Notice the thought, step back from it, decide you do not want what it offers, and let it go. Silence is then not an empty void; it becomes the space in which God’s Voice can tell you what your own true will already is.
What’s Undone — The belief that every thought appearing in the mind deserves attention, interpretation, and allegiance.
Where It Fits — Lesson 253 restores true authority. Lesson 254 asks, “Which Voice will that authority serve?”
Practice Translation — You do not have to wrestle a fearful thought to the ground. See it. Recognize its result. Choose not to keep it. Then listen.
The Takeaway — Peace grows when every thought is no longer treated as your voice merely because it appeared in your mind.
