Let me be still and listen to the truth
The Point — After teaching extensively about function, Jesus now shifts from figuring it out to listening. The ego’s voice is loud because it continually defines salvation, tells you what you need, and supplies strategies for obtaining it. Truth does not compete through volume. It waits beneath the noise. The deeper lesson is receptive: stop deciding beforehand what the answer must be. Listen first. And when truth is received, it naturally becomes something given through you. The messenger must receive the message before extending it.
What’s Undone — The belief that spiritual understanding is produced mainly by thinking harder, planning better, or deciding in advance what truth should say.
Where It Fits — This is another refinement of function: receive → give. You do not generate the message you are meant to extend; you receive it.
Practice Translation — Stillness here is not blankness for its own sake. It is suspending the ego’s constant answer-making long enough to hear another Teacher.
The Takeaway — Your function is not to manufacture the truth but to become quiet enough to receive it and willing enough to give it.
