God is my Father, and His Son loves Him
The Point — Now the relationship is made reciprocal. God loves His Son, and the Son’s true will naturally answers that Love. This is another correction to the ego’s picture of surrender: returning to God is not submission to an alien authority. It is the restoration of a relationship in which giving and receiving are one. The Love God gives becomes fully recognized as yours when it is returned. And because the Sonship is one, the way back is not walked privately; Jesus explicitly speaks of taking the journey together.
What’s Undone — The belief that you might genuinely want something opposed to God and must sacrifice your own will in order to return to Him.
Where It Fits — Lesson 224 The Father loves the Son. Lesson 225 The Son’s true will answers that Love.
The Takeaway — Returning God’s Love is not paying Him back; it is how the mind recognizes that the Love it gives and receives is one.
