A Course In Miracles Lesson 117

Review of Lessons 103–104

The Point — If God is Love and Love is happiness, then joy belongs to you because of your inheritance from Him. You do not need to seek substitutes for Love in order to produce what Love already gives. These lessons together redirect seeking itself: instead of asking the world to supply happiness, seek what already belongs to your true identity.

What The Pair Reveals — You have been searching for externally supplied versions of an inheritance that was never actually withheld.

Where It Fits — As the ideas are generalized through daily life, each temptation to seek completion in a substitute becomes an opportunity to remember what you really want.

The Takeaway — You can stop bargaining for substitutes once you recognize that Love and joy already belong to you.
